From the stage of La Scala Milan to the harbor if. Palermo, music has poured out of Italy like water from the celebrated fountains of Rome. Few countries have welcomed the warming rain of Italian song as enthusiastically as America. And why not? Americans love melody, and Italians compose melodies as if they owned the copyright.
