FROM THE BACK OF THE BOX:

The title of this tape, though currently descriptive enough, has certain disadvantages. As of this moment, these selections do represent "The Best of Mancini." It is a virtual certainty, however, that the title will be obsolete in on time at all. A composer as talented and prolific as Henry Mancini is not likely to rest on his laurels. So by the time you read this, he will have written additional material which deserves to be included under this title. To accommodate this, perhaps RCA Victor will release a recording titled "More Best of Mancini".

Be that as it may, it would be unwise for the music lover to wait. After all, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and there's no sense in denying one-self the pleasure of listening to these great Mancini compositions.

The titles included here represent a hand-picked assortment of famous Mancini hits from television and motion pictures. From Peter Gunn to the fabulous Moon River to the uniquely intriguing Charade, they reflect Mancini's execeptional ability to create "fresh, interesting and successful music."

Som as of now, this recording contains The Best of Mancini. It is an album for musical gem collectors. Considering the composer's past history, however, there is more of the "best" to come.
