A LITTLE INFORMATION - POTTERY MARKS
Pottery Marks are Applied in 4 Basic Ways:
(1) Incised into the soft clay during manufacture, the mark will show a slight ploughed-up effect.
(2) Impressed into the soft clay during manufacture from metal or clay stamps or seals giving a neat appearance.
(3) Painted or stencilled over the glaze, usually with a name or initial marks.
(4) Printed by transfer from engraved copper plates.

A LITTLE MORE INFORMATION - DATING MARKS:
(1) Printed marks incorporating the name of the pattern are after 1810.
(2) The word "Limited", or the abbreviation "Ltd" is used after 1861.
(3)"Trade Mark" is used after 1862.
(4) The "Royal" used in a firm's title or trade name, in most cases, suggests a date after the second half of the 19th century, but used more as a 20th century dating.
(5) The abbreviation "Rd No", "RDNO", "R N", "RN" (Registered Number) followed by numerals is after 1883.
(6) The word "England" is after 1891. However - "Made in England" denotes a 20th century date.
(7) Printed marks incorporating the Royal Arms are from the 19th or 20th century.
(8) The words "Bone China" or "English Bone China"; etc: denotes a 20th century date.

While both these bowl look alike, the first is 'whiter' than the second
The designs match more or less but are not in the same locations.
And of the three smaller floral pattern inside:
First: (A) (B) (C)
Second: (A) (B) (C)
the bowl two are the same on both,
the third is different - all three of the large patterns are also a little different
the main pattern is the same in both.
Both have seen use. But given their state and age still have 'life' and service in them.
